“…Coming from a different martial arts discipline, I found the transition both challenging and rewarding. The unique blend of physical and mental training under Master Warren’s guidance has expanded my perspective and skills in ways I hadn’t anticipated.…” — Paula
I’m in the Navy with limited experience in boxing and Filipino Martial Arts. I was in the Shaolin program and the Tai Chi program at Pensacola Kung Fu & Tai Chi. Although I was only in the school for a couple of months, I learned a lot and thoroughly enjoyed the classes.
I found the classes very relaxing and slower paced compared to boxing/fma. The way the classes are taught focuses on mind-body connection, coordination, and balance. There’s also a prioritization on moving smooth over fast/strong. Slow is smooth. Smooth is fast.
Master Warren takes the time to teach students at their individual level. He shows the techniques, breaks it down, explains the whys, and shows the application. Students also train with and help each other, teaching/giving pointers and practicing the applications. I will add that I really like the Tai Chi since it really helped with my body awareness and balance
All in all, I thought it was a good school with a good teacher and good fellow students. — Leah
